About Us
The Episcopal Church Women of the Diocese of Chicago includes all the women in the Episcopal churches of northern Illinois. Just as our parishes differ greatly, so do our members. The women of the ECW bring a variety of skills and abilities to each of our events. The fellowship we share is special and unique.
There are 10 deaneries or regions in the Diocese of Chicago (click here to download a map) and each has a representative to the Board of Directors. These members-at-large help direct programs which serve and support the women in the entire Diocese. Each deanery also has a chairman who helps implement the Quiet Day and Deanery Day in their region.
Churches throughout the Diocese participate in a voluntary financial contribution to support our Diocesan ECW. Because of their generosity, the ECW is able to provide leadership and programming to ECW’s throughout the region. The ECW is an independent organization, and does not receive funding through the Chicago Diocese.
The Diocesan Mirror is our newsletter which is published every other month. Each parish and each ECW President or parish representative receives a copy as a way of communicating our activities throughout the Diocese. Members of the ECW also receive The Diocesan Mirror by request or by clicking here
The ECW of Chicago provides four Forums, Quite Days, and leadership meetings for sharing our faith and fellowship. See our event page for details and registration.
ECW supports a wide range of local Episcopal agencies through its year-end giving. Abroad, ECW supports our companion dioceses and missionary work in Kenya and Sudan, Southeast Mexico, and Central and South America.
