Voluntary Financial Contribution (VFC) - ECW ChicagoChurches throughout the Diocese of Chicago participate in a voluntary financial contribution program to support our Diocesan ECW. Because of their generosity, the ECW is able to provide leadership and programming to ECW's throughout the region. The ECW is an independent organization and does not receive funding through the Diocese of Chicago. VFC's are requested each calendar year - January 1 through December 31. Each parish that participates in the VFC is eligible to vote at the Annual Meeting & Convention the following spring. For a copy of the Voluntary Financial Contribution form, please click here. ECW Endowment Fund - ECW Chicago The mission and ministry of the ECW is self-supporting and we gratefully receive financial gifts. Our endowment, begun in 1910, has enabled the ECW to support women and our ministries in education, fellowship and service. Donations to our endowment may be made directly to the treasurer of the ECW, Diocese of Chicago. A donation may be made in honor or memory of an individual and that name will be listed annually in the ECW report. For a copy of the ECW Endowment Fund form, please click here. It was founded in 1888 by Mary Ann Drake Fargo, wife of a member of the Wells-Fargo Express firm. Mary Ann and her friends in the Church of the Holy Communion, New York, sent their bundles of books and periodicals westward to missionaries and pioneers via stagecoach. There are two primary granting funds: The National Books Fund provides grants annual and responds to requests for books and related materials around the world. The Miles of Pennies fund is exclusively used for the book needs of children and grants are made throughout the year. Churches may choose to collect donations through church-wide offerings, reading clubs or other individual donations.
